Our Story
The Love of Dogs was built on a simple truth: when we care for your pets, we love them as if they were our own.
Our founder, Charli Gross, started his first pet care business at age 12. His vision was born from noticing a gap in the industry: services were often transactional, not relational. Charli wanted a team that didn't just walk a dog, but truly saw the pet, understood their emotional and physical needs, and partnered with the owner.
What makes us different is how we show up—with attention, communication, and care that goes beyond the basics. We notice things, like subtle health changes an owner might miss, and share guidance without judgment. We are here to support you in ways that fit your real life.

Charli Gross
Owner & Founder
With over 20 years of experience working with dogs in a variety of roles, Charli’s passion for pets began early—he launched his first pet-care business at just 12 years old. Since then, he has worked as a professional dog groomer, managed several pet-care companies, and assisted in training and acclimating countless dogs. In addition to his hands-on animal expertise, Charli brings a strong business background and holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern California (USC).
Celina Lua
Creative Director & Pet Care Specialist
Celina is a lifelong dog lover—and a longtime Charli lover (they’re engaged!). While Charli manages the operations and business side, Celina brings a creative touch to the team. She captures the heart of the company through everyday photography and engaging social media storytelling, showcasing the joy and personality of every pup in their care.
Phoenix Lewin
Pet Care Specialist
Phoenix is a lifelong animal lover and pet owner with over twelve years of experience with dog walking and pet care for all pets ranging from cats to bearded dragons. Phoenix started their career in the Pet Industry at twelve years old as an assistant dog groomer and later worked at a farm animal rescue. A long time dog and cat owner, Phoenix cares for animals as if they were human beings and loves each of them as if they were their own. Additionally, Phoenix is academically accomplished with a Bachelors of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
